Life is Precious

My biggest fear hit me head on yesterday. I lost my Dad 11 years ago + deep down I fear something happening to my Mum. Then I was slapped in the face with it when I heard she was in a car accident. Thankfully she is ok, but it killed me to know she was hurt, especially when I first saw her in hospital. . The car is a complete right off + we’re so lucky she has come away with what seems to be fairly minor. Most importantly she will be fine. . This emotional experience has put so …

The Power of Circles

I realised something after leaving women’s circle the other day…. I feel that gathering in circle is one of the most powerful forms of healing… Whether it is a women’s circle, men’s circle, community circle, chanting circle, sound healing circle, yoga circle, drumming circle, gifting circle, music circle, meditation circle, parenting circle, creativity circle, tea ceremony, sacred ceremony or any other kind of circle…. The magic is in the circle 🌟🌟 A circle represents a safe container. A circle represents a place where we are all equal. A circle has no beginning or end. There is no separation.. This represents …

Yin Yoga Philosophy: Knowing Thyself

Oh Yin Yoga, you are delicious…. I did my second Yin Yoga Teacher Training recently and I am always reminded how amazing it is when I slow down, be still and become aware. This then allows me to receive the gifts of being able to watch (my stuff) and listen (to the wisdom within). Have you practised Yin before? I love love love how I feel, both when practising and teaching. My Yin practice enables me to reconnect with and remember that peaceful place within, and it’s from that place that I can discover deeper parts within myself and become …

Reconnecting with Sound: Lessons from the Native American Flute

The more I walk down this path of consciousness, expansion and heart opening, the more I reconnect with sound, vibration, music 🎶 I am currently learning to play the Native American Flute, which will no doubt start to show up in some of my offerings eventually. This instrument is mesmerising and touches me deeply… Here’s what this beautiful sound healing instrument has reminded me of and shown me so far… 🌀 I am sound. I am vibration. Sound and music are the language of the soul. I can’t understand it intellectually, but I can feel it and experience the resonance. …

Where Do I “Fit” In?

Where do I “fit” In? This is the question I asked myself for a very long time, ever since I was in school. It became clear to me many years ago that I was “different.” At least that’s how my mind perceived me to be (perpetuating the separation). . I did my fair share of partying, drinking and taking drugs back in the day. But after a while it started to get old and this highlighted to me how different my interests and aspirations started to become to my closest friend groups at the time. . While others were working …

I Remember You (Women from all Walks of Life)

I remember you. You’re the mother whose kids have grown up, and you’ve spent most of your life making others happy, losing yourself, but now taking the time to find yourself… I remember you. You’re the hardworking corporate professional that lives a high stress lifestyle and can’t find time for self care… I remember you. You’re the placid, soft spoken angel that works at the local cafe, dreaming about being a Reiki healer… I remember you. You’re the young mother who gives everything to her kids, her family and lives each day as the glue that holds everything together for …

Yin Yoga Philosophy: Slow Down, Ground and Reconnect with Yourself

I love Yin Yoga!! Although it took me a while to realise this. Have you practised Yin before?? When I first tried a couple of yin classes, I thought I didn’t like it. I walked out thinking, “this is too slow and boring, I want to move!”  (clearly I didn’t get it!!) I didn’t practice Yin for many months after that and just practiced Vinyasa and Embodied Flow for a while. Then one day I decided to go back to Yin. I found myself dropping into a deeper place within me, and I left the class feeling floaty, calm, blissful and …

Gratitude – The Language of the Heart

Eckhart Tolle says, “If the only prayer you ever say is ‘thank you’, that will be enough.” There is something powerful about living from a place of gratitude. Being eternally grateful and showing gratitude is like speaking the language of the heart. Gratitude is a reminder of how fortunate we are and how magnificent life is. It puts things into perspective and has the power to shift the entire state of our being; emotionally, mentally, physically, energetically, etc. A moment of stress, frustration or annoyance can transform into a state of contentment, happiness and deep appreciation for the endless things …

Lucy’s Women’s Circle Story

Women’s circles came into my life at a time where I was really exploring what it meant and felt like to be part of something larger than myself 🤔 I had friends in many different circles, but was never really part of a larger community or tribe. I knew that this was a missing piece in my wellness puzzle, and felt the pull to further explore this 🙊   I started attending several different women’s circles and gatherings, and regularly went to the one at HYA YOGA that was run by Imogen Bailey from Honouring Heart ❤❤   Each time I …

Who Am I?

Who Am I? Have you ever asked yourself this question? 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ Do you define yourself a certain way, with descriptions, labels and concepts? 😎 What comes after your “I am”?? ✌🤩 Your occupation? Gender? Age? Your family role? Your interests or character traits? Something else? 🤸‍♂️🤸‍♂️🤓 Have you looked at what is underneath all these things that are placed after the “I am”? The I Am itself? 🤔 The I Am is the pure being of our nature. Our essence. The Self. True nature. Consciousness. Pure awareness. Love. Everything and simultaneously nothing. A transcendence of language and concepts. It just “is.” ❤❤ All the other things …
