Creating Space for Flow

Creating space…. This is a recurring theme in my life and usually comes up for me when I’m going through transitions, expansion and shifts. Right now it is a major theme in a few areas. With work/play, I’ve realised that I’m doing too many things and feel the desire to shift my focus on where I can best be of service. I will be taking time away from the podcast for a little while to reassess where I’m heading with it. I feel that this will create space to put more energy into women’s circles, yoga, workshop and other event …

Ancient Wisdom: Remembering and Knowing

Ancient wisdom. Traditional wisdom. Ancestral wisdom. Ancient knowing. Ancient remembering. It all makes so much sense to me now. Previously these were intellectual concepts… and now, experientially, I feel it all so deeply in my heart, in my whole being. Follow me on this journey for a moment… For many years of being down the rabbit hole of nutrition and health, I developed an ancestral and rewilding view and approach to life as a human, to live as closely as possible to nature and our natural design. There has always been a flavour of the concept of traditional wisdom that …

Rebirthing Breathwork and Sound Medicine: A Powerful Healing Experience

I recently had a one-on-one rebirthing and sound healing session with the incredible Daniel Coates, aka. Suntara, and it was one of the most amazing healing experiences I’ve ever had. Here is a recap of my journey: As I began to breathe, in through the nose, out through the nose, just as a baby does… free, uninhibited, natural, rhythmic… it seemed that my breath was anything but this, and moreso a breath that signified I was in fight or flight mode, my sympathetic nervous system in activation, not fully letting my breath go on the exhale, and holding at the …

Giving and Receiving

The acts of giving and receiving have been present in my life for as long as I can remember. When I give, it is without expectation. I give because I enjoy seeing others happy, cared for and feeling good. But what about receiving?? I don’t receive as easily as I give. This is something I’m very aware of and am still learning to do graciously. I’ve realised that reciprocity is a human tendency and is also present throughout the natural world. Since we are nature, it is no surprise that we express this tendency. Giving without expectation is beautiful, but it …

Come Home (Poem)

Imagine…. Walking through the depths of a dark forest…. I see a flicker of bright light through the trees. Curious in wonderment, I head towards the light. I notice the freshness and crispness of the air as my feet carry me across the ground. I notice the sound of the bell bird, guiding me, reminding me that I am safe. I notice the glistening of the leaves on the tallest trees… the trees providing the container for the whole forest to be grounded into the earth. I notice the footprints along the ground, wondering who may have walked this path …
